hey there, i’m steph!

Let me introduce myself. I’m Steph, and I’m passionate about all things nutrition (I even have fruits and veggies tattooed on my forearm)! I’m a Registered Dietitian and graduate from Logan University with a Master of Science in Applied Nutrition and Dietetics and The University of Alabama (ROLL TIDE ) with a BS in Food and Nutrition in 2012.

I’m a clinical dietitian and I have worked in corporate wellness settings for 5 years. During that time, I gave presentations about various nutrition topics, counseled people on nutrition and health and wellness, and helped them work towards reaching their goals.

I’m Precision Nutrition Level 1 certified, an ACSM certified personal trainer, and have certifications in behavioral change methodologies.

I love helping people find what works best for them because nutrition is not a one-size-fits-all.

Whether you want to make healthy changes, want to better your nutrition for athletic performance, or for any other reason, I’m here to help!

About Me

Growing up, I knew nothing about nutrition. We aren’t taught why we need the foods we need or what we need them for in school (at least at my school). All I knew was from what I read in Women’s Health or Self magazines, and as we know, those are loaded with the latest diet trends. When getting ready for beach trips or any special events like weddings or balls, I would do excessive amounts of cardio and cut calories to barely 1,200 calories, not knowing any better. I know I’m not the only one.

It wasn’t until my second year of college did my views of food start to shift. I didn’t start off wanting to get a degree in Food and Nutrition, but something changed. I started running again and paying attention to what I was eating and noticed how my running was impacted by what I ate. After a few months, I decided to change my major to nutrition. And let me tell you, that opened my eyes!

Learning why we need carbohydrates, fats, and protein and what they do for our bodies gave me an entirely different perspective. Instead of fearing food, I learned to love it and use it to reach my goals. And that’s what I want for you! I want to help you understand we don’t have to cut out food groups from our diet, and we can incorporate the foods we love. I want you to quit being so overwhelmed with nutrition and learn to love and use it to reach your goals!
